[ ABOUT US ]

A legacy of quality. A future of innovation and sustainable growth.

Established in 1972, JMC Highland stands as one of the oldest and most respected electrical contractors in the Scottish Highlands. Eleven years ago, Mark Ridgeway and Garreth Porteous took over the business, committed to maintaining the impeccable reputation built by the original founder while bringing fresh energy and modern expertise.

Between them, Mark and Garreth bring over 40 years of combined experience in the electrical and renewable energy sectors. They have successfully introduced new technologies as the industry has evolved and expanded our renewable energy capabilities while maintaining the standards of safety and perfection that have always defined JMC Highland.

The recent addition of incoming Managing Director Craig Smith marks a transformative chapter for JMC Highland. His expertise in Energy projects, M&A & Finance unlocks Power Purchase Agreements for capital-constrained businesses by removing upfront cost barriers, and enables multiple growth strategies for JMC Highlands, enabling us to have a greater impact on, and accelerate the energy transition across Northern Scotland.

"...in just 18 months the business system has generated over 40 MWh... with a projected payback of around 4 years. We're absolutely delighted with both the performance of the system and the service received."
